What do you want your iPhone 6 case to look like?

September 16, 2014 6 Comments

You know what they say - haters gonna hate. No wonder we started seeing memes and picture making fun of the new iPhone 6 shorter after Apple introduced it.

Since we are not really into complaining, our reaction is going to be as you would expect. Yep, our new iPhone 6 leather case should be out soon.

our new iPhone 6 leather case should be out soon

And here comes the fun part!

We are still in the design phase with this product. So this is your chance to make it as awesome as possible. Which one of these would be your case of choice when it comes to protecting your new precious device? Share your opinion with us and get 20% off the retail price when it becomes available.

There are basically three options to choose from:

  1. A simple case, the same one you might have gotten used to to protect your iPhone 5/5S, just (obviously) bigger. Can't do any harm with that, right?
  2. A full-size wallet with a built-in iPhone 6 case, an upgraded version of our flagship product that provides easy access to your phone, cash, credit cards and whatever else you carry around. Although we would very much like to go for this option, we are quite unsure how you would deal with an oversized wallet. What do you think?
  3. A brand new product that would provide easy access to your precious new iPhone 6 but would also include basic features of a wallet. The idea: to protect your phone while letting you use it without having to pull it out of the case. And include slots for your cash and credit cards. Some kind of a hybrid between a phone case and a wallet. How does that sound to you?
This is for real, and your ideas and comments really matter. So please go ahead, get in touch (daniel@dannypstyle.com), and let's make the new case as cool as the iPhone 6 deserves!

I agree, Tony. Thank you. I think Apple Pay is awesome. It’s really easy and smooth.

The touch ID requires you to touch the home button so that means you need to have the phone either outside of the case or have the home button easily accessible. For sure before you make a payment, you would have to select a payment source unless there is a default card setting which means you have to see what is on the screen. I think option 3 would server a better purpose.

Hey Ross, great point with Apple Pay, thank you. We have to test, whether NFC will work through the leather case. If home button would be accessible and NFC will work through it you don’t need to get the iPhone out.

Whilst It is difficult to know exactly how big a full Wallet would be for the iPhone 6, I still think option two would be my preference. (Iphone 6+ is massive so not sure anything will suit that)

There are a number of hybrid wallets out there already which I’ve used and found none of them as useful as my Danny P Wallet- usually having to compromise on the notes/ receipts section.

Option 3 definitely a good second choice, but with Apple Pay Finally bringing mobile payments to the iPhone it’s quite likely that you will need to be able to get the phone out of the Wallet quickly when you need to to make payments in store so it will need to allow that as the current Danny P wallets do.

I would like to see option 3:

A brand new product that would provide easy access to your precious new iPhone 6 but would also include basic features of a wallet. The idea: to protect your phone while letting you use it without having to pull it out of the case. And include slots for your cash and credit cards.
